Path of Exile Item Upgrading
In Path of Exile, item upgrading is one of the best ways to upgrade your gear without relying upon large-ticket drops or trade. This article will show you how to upgrade your items.
Upgrades to equipment give an additional bonus to the item's stats. The bonus increases with upgrade component level and rarity.
Components
Upgrade components are the items that improve your armor and weapons more effective. They can be found by destroying enemies, buying them from karma sellers or finding them in items-spheres. They can also be rescued from equipment that has them, or through a high-tier salvage kit like the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. Contrary to other products upgrades aren't destroyed when they are removed from an item.
Upgrade components are typically used to upgrade an item but they can also be used for other reasons. They can be stacked to increase the quality of an upgradeable item or they can be used to boost the experience gained by upgrading an existing weapon or piece of equipment. They can also be made to provide extra bonuses. For instance, a specially crafted glyph will boost the chance of upgrading its target, whereas the boost upgrade can enhance the defense or attack quality of a weapon or armor.
You can connect an upgrade template to an item by selecting it from the edition GUI. It will display a list of upgrade components that the item can be upgraded to. You can also use the workbench for selecting an upgrade template. In either case, an item will be upgraded when enough upgrade components have been collected.
Each component has its own experience multiplier. This determines the amount of experience an item will gain when upgraded with that component. For instance, organic components offer more experience multipliers than mechanical ones. You should upgrade organic components first until you reach the next rank in the weapon or equipment, and then switch to the mechanical upgrades.
Each item comes with a maximum upgrade number that can be received. The number of items that can be upgraded is determined by their upgradeable rank, and the type of upgrade they can get. For instance, the most expensive possible upgrade for a weapon is a weapon of tier 10. The most popular weapon upgrade is a tier 6 gun and a armor upgrade of tier 5.
Sets
A set is a group of items which share a bonus. Each item in the set can be upgraded at least once and the upgrade will increase the amount of bonuses that are guaranteed. The first time you upgrade an item or set piece will give it a +1 increase to its primary stat. On subsequent upgrades, primary stats are increased even more (for instance, +1 for 12+/13+/14+) and each time an item is upgraded one of its additional stats is increased randomly.
Upgrading a weapon can also increase the damage base, which may be crucial for certain builds. Weapons aren't upgraded to give greater maximum defence rolls than their base. It is possible to increase the value of certain sets and unique items by upgrading them, however they might not always be superior to a higher-level Runeword.
If an item you're upgrading has a guaranteed bonus, it can be rerolled a few times and its guarantee will be reset to zero. Rerolling is the same amount of power dice as leveling an item, however the upgraded item will come with different extra bonuses. Upgrades can be made by visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you'll need a power die of each type (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; dice 7 drops from bosses) and the right amount of Minerals and Erons. These are available at the crafting table or in the Ultra Collector and can be purchased using Gold. The NPCs will also offer special rewards for each completed level of the upgrade process. This reward is rerollable once and the reroll will use the same materials as the first item.
Rerolling
A player is able to play rerolling any item that they acquire during the game, provided they have enough tokens. When an upgraded item gets rerolled, it will be exchanged for a version that is level 1 of the same item in another set. Reroll tokens can be purchased in the shop for a small sum of in-game currency. They are not refundable. The upgraded item will have the same bonuses of the original one, but its stats will be different also.
Players can change the identity of equipment in addition to rolling it again by interacting with an upgrader NPC. This will change its identification as a weapon to armor or reverse it. The basic stats and requirements remain the same. The change is permanent and will affect all characters that have the gear in question.
The player can also upgrade their level of the item for any equipment equipped. upgrade item Cases gg can be done by talking to an upgrader NPC and getting upgrade components. This will cost a certain number of crests and Valorstones dependent on the upgrade track and kind. For weapons, each step up will add 5% to its damage.
Upgrading an item can make it more powerful, but it will also lower its quality. Therefore, it is important to strike a balance between the two. Some items are not worth upgrading, whereas others need to be upgraded to reach their full potential. One player may wish to upgrade breakpoint armor with an interesting modification ( percent block chance or FHR) to discover what it could be.
The primary reason why people play rerolls in Genshin Impact, or in any gacha-based game is that they're trying to get a specific character or weapon that they aren't able to obtain. These items can be time-consuming and expensive to acquire and the RNG does not always work in a positive way. The only alternatives are to spend real money or grind for a long time. Rerolling is very popular in Genshin Impact.
Leveling
You can decide to upgrade the weapon or armor when you upgrade an item. But, this feature does absolutely nothing in the current game. I believe it was designed to be a way to increase the value of rare items, but because the majority of gear drops quickly and is only upgraded once you've reached a certain level it is likely that you will replace the item before it becomes too old. It's not worth it to upgrade items with gem sockets because the power of the gem will outweigh the increase in ilvl with the upgrade.
If you click the upgrade option on an item, you'll get a small screen with the item's upgrade template and the crest and Valorstone costs to increase the item level. Weapons and armor will have different costs, with the former usually being more expensive. The upgrade template outlines the stats that can be added to an upgraded item and also the current base ilvl.
The Crest and Valorstone costs are calculated according to the item's current ilvl as well as the upgrade template. The ilvl is also reduced by the upgrade templates lvl reduction percentage. For instance an upgrade of 8% will reduce the weapon's ilvl by 8 to 8percent.

In addition to the increase in ilvl base, the item will also get upgrades in other stats such as critical strike damage, PvE damage, dodge, block and parry rating. Those increases are also built on the upgrade template.
In the upgrade template, you can check the amount of damage or defense an item will be able to sustain after being leveled up. This is displayed below the cost as well as the upgrade percentages. All weapons and armor that are not practice equipment gain these stats upon leveling up. The value of these stats will be determined by the market, with a perfectly rolled piece of armor or weapon is able to command more in trade value than unupp'd versions. The same applies to other pieces of armor, such as circlets and tiaras.
